10 ways to love: Pray without ceasing

Pray without ceasing

Next in our series of 10 ways to love, let’s touch on praying without ceasing.

This may sound kind of weird, and you might understand this as continuously praying all the time. However, praying without ceasing means to constantly be talking to God about everything, even day-to-day little things. Placing everything in our savior’s hands. In Philippians 4:6, the Apostle Paul tells us to be anxious about nothing and prayerful about everything. This is a way to show Love towards our Lord, others, and even ourselves. In fact, Prayer turns us into more loving people in general! When our hearts are inclined to prayer, instead of stewing on something or someone who wronged us, we jump to prayer first. To love right, we need to change our heart posture and focus on talking to God about it rather than letting our mind take over.

Although this only is the tip of the iceberg on this topic, there is far more to discover. For example, Paul writes to the Church of Colossae:

“For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” Colossians 1:9-10
