10 ways to love: Trust without wavering
Allison Holsclaw
Trust without wavering
”It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.“
1 Corinthians 13:7
To trust is to firmly believe in something. When something is firm is goes without moving or it is not easily moved. In Psalm 26:1-2, David writes “I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and my heart.”
David said he trusted without wavering. What does wavering mean? Pastor Bob Chaffee said : To waver is much like the waves of the sea. They go up and down, in and out. We have to have a consistent walk with God; we can’t be up one day saying “Oh Lord, I love you”, and the next day be down so low that we’re wondering if He is real! Trust is built on knowledge and understanding. Trust is a firm belief.”
God truly wants us to trust him and his will for us. Your trust should be firm. NOT EASILY moved. Have the firm belief, let it be a constant in your life. When life gets rocky, and we go over a bumpy patch, we need to stand still in our trust.
Keep your eyes on the Lord.
Friends, this week: Don’t look at the problem — look at Jesus. Praying for you!
