God is… Holy

God is holy. What does that even mean? Holy essentially means set apart. God is set apart. He separate from us humans. How so? He is without sin. God is completely and wholly perfect while we humans are sinful, imperfect, and broken. It is only because of Jesus death and resurrection that we can be in relationship with a holy God.

"Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!"

Revelation 4:8b

God also calls us to be holy and set apart from the world.

"You shall be holy, for I am holy."

1 Peter 1:16 ESV

Meditate on the holiness of our Lord this week. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a new and fresh way that makes you love Him even more. May your week be holy, set apart!
