Week Four: Patience

Allison Holsclaw

Daniel McCoy said “Patience in the Bible is the ability to endure difficult people and situations without giving into anger or giving up hope. Because God continues to show us patience when we are doing disappointing things, we can show others patience when they disappoint us.”

When one thinks of patience they may think of staying calm within daily annoyances (like when waiting for pumpkin spice to come back for the season) but along with patience comes waiting, and perseverance!

When having a relationship with Christ there may be waiting, in those seasons of waiting, what is necessary of you is to trust the Lord and to be patient in his plan for you.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.”
Psalms 40:1

Like in this passage, David waited for the Lord even when there was no answer, he waited diligently, perseveringly until God answered his prayer!

We need to remain steadfast, patient, and willing even when we become impatient trying to figure out God’s plan for us, just like David did.

“The ability to endure…”

This week we challenge you to be patient in all worldly circumstances and even in waiting. God’s plan for you will come even when you doubt. What he has in store is so much better than you will ever imagine.

Thanks for being patient with us as we focused on family and friend time this past week and please continue to be patient as we start up our busy school and work schedules!

Have a blessed week!
