Light the Candle: Peace

Kayla Paulsen

Peace.

During this advent season, peace is something we should be focusing on daily. Countless number of times the Bible actually commands us so be peaceful and have peace. The end of the year can be the most stressful time of all, it’s the Christmas season, finals are coming up, so many parties and events to be at. Through all the stress, Jesus still wants us to have peace. Jesus is our mighty counselor and prince of peace, if we have Christ living in us, we may have peace all the days of our lives!

One thing to focus on relating to peace is the sabbath. God calls our bodies to rest. We are not meant to be working 24-7! It is important to take time every week and focus on our soul care through rest. Rest looks different to everyone! To me, rest is listening to the Sadie Robertson Podcast while I reorganize my room. To you, rest might look like something completely different. Either way, resting our physical bodies, as well as resting our souls in the word of God is the ultimate provider of peace.

Don’t forget to take time to rest and enjoy the peace of Christ this holiday season! Merry Christmas She Brews Fam!

Colossians 3:15 - “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

Numbers 6:24-26 – “Let the Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
