Love is… Kind

Love is… KIND

God’s love is kind. Kindness is typically defined like this: being selfless, caring, compassionate, and unconditionally loving. There is no better example of kindness than our Savior, Jesus Christ.

“by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love”

2 Corinthians 6:6

We are called to love. We are called to love the people that are like us, but we are also called to love those that are different than us. Think about Jesus. How did he love? He came down in such humility as a testament of Gods love. He sat with murderers, rapists etc. Jesus loved with kindess in mind. When we are loving on someone, bring God into it. We can only show true love if we know God personally. That's why it is so important to spend time soaking in God's presence.

'Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. '

Ephesian 4:31

When it comes to loving with kindness, we need to remember to set ourselves aside. We need to love on that person solely with intent of loving like Jesus would. A great example of this is the Women at the well. Jesus showed so much kindness and love in that moment. He put himself aside and showed her the love she needed.

Remember who your love comes from. Study how Jesus loved and take that into your life. Love so differently than those around you that people ask you why you are different. That might just change someone’s life.
