God is Jealous

God is jealous. Yes, you heard me right—God is jealous. Now that may sound wrong to some people because us humans tend to associate that word with evil and sin. But, when it comes to God, jealousy is very very good.

When we say God is jealous, we mean that He’s jealous for us. He doesn’t want anything or anyone else to have us besides Himself. And that is a good thing. We can find comfort and peace that God not only loves us but wants us too.

Nahum 1:2 tells us, “The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and wrathful; the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.” This is a promise to us: we can rest assured knowing that God’s wrath will not be poured out on us because it was poured out on Jesus was He died on the cross.

Find peace, comfort, and rest knowing that you God loves you so much that He doesn’t want anyone or anything taking over your heart. He wants it all to Himself. Will you give all to Him?
